- The New York State Energy Research and Development
Authority is proposing to spend $650,000 to install residential photovoltaic systems
on Energy Star Labeled Homes in New York State. LIPA (Long Island)
is not part of the System Benefits Charge process and
Energy Star builders and their customers will not have access to these monies.
- These are to be grid-connected PV systems, allowing
residential customers to run their electric meters backwards, offsetting their normal
utility bill. They are to be installed on Energy Star homes in various
sub-divisions in six service territories around New York State.
